The Akademie Seminar Hotel ***  is located near  the Lednice - Valtice Cultural Landscape that was entered into UNESCO´s Cultural and Natural World Heritage List on the 7th december 1996 due to its extraordinary natural and cultural historic value. 


Lednice na Moravě - 10 km

The chateau had gone through many reconstructions, the last one took place in the 19th. century, when the chateau was rebuilt in the English Neo-Gothic style. It is surrounded by a French and English parks, a lake and several romantic buildings and it makes part of the Lednice-Valtice Area listed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Register.

The Lednice-Valtice Complex, a cultural landscape aptly dubbed "the Garden of Europe" in the 19th century, is the result of the acts of people and of nature. It is to the great credit of the Lichtenstein family that the complex came into being. Throughout seven centuries, they have built chateaus, gardens, parks and lakes in the local estate. In 1996 the Lednice-Valtice Complex was included in the UNESCO List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The dominant features of the complex are the Lednice and Valtice chateaus. Both structures are linked with eminent artists. Built in the spirit of the English neo-Gothic style, the Lednice Chateau is more attractive for visitors, the largest crowd-puller beingits Mannerist park with a number of small buildings dominated by a minaret, an element rarely met in Europe. Visitors will find a range of other minor structures in the Lednice-Valtice complex, all incorporated with a great deal of sensitivity in lovely landscape which is dotted with numerous ponds. These serve as a resting point for migratory birds and a paradise for ornithologists.


Mikulov - 24 km

St. Sebestian chapel on Svatý kopeček ( Saint hill ) in Mikulov - The dominant feature of Mikulov is Svatý Kopeček (Saint Hill) – a lime hill on which in the second half of the 17th. century cardinal Dietrichstein built the pilgrim chapel of St. Sebastian. A steep way of cross, lined by four-edged chapels with Baroque statues and paintings is reaching up to the hill. If you want to extend your trip, you can walk to the Holy Grail on the eastern hill top where you can admire magnificent views of the surroundings such as the Pálava massive, the Lednice-Valtice area or the broad lowlands of the Southern Moravia.

Na Turoldu Cave - It was open to the public in 2004 and it differs from other caves by its location in the secondary era limestones, which turned into the karst ones under the influence of the thermal springs. Its decoration resembles the one of the sea corals.



Valtice - 18 km 

The city of Valtice, located near Austrian border, is famous for its beautiful castle and highly developed viniculture. The castle of Valtice used to be an ostentatious domicile of Austrian as well as Moravian house of Lechtenstein. It was renowned not only for its beauty, but also for arts. Let´s name, for example, the castle theater, whose significance of the time competed with the theatre stage of Vienna.

The Castle of Valtice, one of the largest secular baroque buildings in Moravia, was built in the period of 1643 dtto 1730.The castle also includes an extensive park and a number of romatic buildings dating back to the first half of the 19th century, such as the colonnade called Reistna, the manor house of Belveder, the temple of Diana (also known as Randezvous) and the chapel of St. Hubert.

Valtice and wine. These two terms have been inseparable for hundreds of year. The prestigious wine exhibit called Wine Market of Valtice attracts visitors from the whole country. The cellars of Valtice castle host the Wine Salon of the Czech Republic, while other rooms include the National Center for Viniculture and also Moravín Union, the largest union of Czech and Moravian wine makers. The Secondary School of Viniculture and Viniculture Academy of Valtice these two institutions prepare dozens and hundreds students and sommeliers each year for the wine business. Is there any other place closer to wine than Valtice?



Břeclav - 14 km 

The town of Břeclav, the natural centre of an ethnographical region called Podluží and the entrance gate to the Lednice-Valtice area, is located on the border of three countries. The numerous archaeological finds excavated in this area testify to the fact it was inhabited as early as the year 2000 B.C. Extensive remains of a settlement dating from the period of the Great Moravian Empire can be found in the surroundings of the small Pohansko manor house. Prince Břetislav had a princely castle built on this strategic site which was later rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau and subsequently remodelled in the English neo-Gothic style. In 1872, thanks to its remarkable economic development, Břeclav was granted town status. There is a town museum and an art gallery located near the town´s main square (with a modern-day church consecrated to St Wenceslas), on a site once occupied by a Jewish ghetto.



Protected landscape area of Pálava - 20 km

The Protected Landscape Area of Pálava covers an area of 83 km2, it is situated in the altitude of 163 – 554 m above sea level to the north of Mikulov towards the Novomlýnská reservoir. Since 1986 Pálava is listed in the UNESCO biospheric reserves. There is a wide range of rare fauna and flora in the area.
